Tojeong Bigyeol

Korea's classic New Year fortune, read through Tojeong Bigyeol's 144 gua — your gua, a year summary, and monthly one-liners are free; Bokja's full reading and premium report open with coins.

Korea's classic New Year fortune, read since the late Joseon era. It uses Tojeong Bigyeol's own 144-gua system — not the I Ching's 64 hexagrams — casting this year's gua from your Korean age and lunar birthday plus the almanac numbers (taese, wolgeon, iljin).

📖 How to read Tojeong Bigyeol

Tojeong Bigyeol (土亭祕訣) is Korea's classic New Year custom of reading the year ahead, dating back to the late Joseon period. It uses its own 144-gua system (8 upper × 6 middle × 3 lower) rather than the I Ching's 64 hexagrams: your Korean age, lunar birthday, and the almanac numbers (taese, wolgeon, iljin) become the three digits that cast this year's gua. Your gua, a year summary, and monthly one-liners for the first half are free; Bokja's full reading and keepsake premium report open with coins.

  1. Enter your birth date and tap “See this year's Tojeong gua” — Tojeong casting doesn't need a birth time, and lunar dates with leap months are supported.
  2. See this year's gua number (one of 144), the upper (taese), middle (wolgeon), and lower (iljin) gua, and the three almanac numbers, all free.
  3. The year summary (keywords and three lines) and one-liners for January–June sketch the year's grain and the first half.
  4. Bokja's full reading and premium report — July–December included, with each month's scene and response plus an in-depth overview and advice — open with coins.

❓ Frequently asked questions

What do I get for free?

This year's gua number, the upper/middle/lower gua, the taese-wolgeon-iljin numbers, the year summary (keywords and three lines), and monthly one-liners for January–June are free. July–December, each month's scene and response, the in-depth overview, and the year's advice open in Bokja's full reading and report with coins.

Can I get a reading without my birth time?

Yes. Tojeong casting uses your Korean age, lunar birthday, and birth month to build the three gua digits, so the birth time isn't used at all. A birth date is all it takes.

Can I enter my regular (solar-calendar) birthday?

Yes. Tojeong is based on the lunar calendar and Korean age, but if you enter a solar date the tool converts it for you. If you know your lunar birthday and leap-month status, you can enter those directly too.

What's the difference between the full reading and the premium report?

The full reading opens the in-depth overview, all twelve months in detail, and the year's advice. The premium report adds how your upper, middle, and lower gua structure the year and in-depth readings by life area — a keepsake edition. If you've already bought the full reading, the report costs only the difference.

Tojeong gua readings are a light New Year tradition for entertainment and self-reflection — they don't fix your fate or predict the future.
